This period on Providence delivered exactly what the atoll is known for — big GT, technical triggerfish action and unforgettable moments on remote, untouched flats. With a strong mix of returning anglers and fresh energy, the group embraced neap tide conditions and made the most of every opportunity, producing standout fish across multiple species.

GT fishing was a major highlight, with consistent action and serious size throughout the period. Allan led from the front with multiple metre plus GT, including a powerful 112 cm fish. Carlton matched the pace, landing two GT over a metre and sharing an unforgettable double hook up where both anglers landed metre class fish from the same shoal.
Sanjay celebrated a huge milestone with his first ever GT, measuring an impressive 104 cm, while Clarke capped off his week in style with his first metre plus GT at 101 cm after landing his very first GT earlier in the trip. The second group carried this momentum, with Rowan landing a strong 106 cm GT after an earlier encounter with a massive shoal of fish and nurse sharks that tested tackle limits. Chris, Trevor and Pete all added solid GT numbers, with multiple fish in the 90 cm range rounding off a consistent and exciting period of GT fishing.

Triggerfish were a defining feature, offering both numbers and technical challenges.Clarke set the tone early, landing 6 triggers in the opening two days, while John joined him for an incredible session where 8 triggerfish were landed before lunch. Allan added the biggest of the period, a trophy 55 cm yellowmargin, while Chris followed closely with a 54 cm fish during a highly successful week targeting triggers.
Bruce found his rhythm late in the week, landing 5 triggers including a personal best of 52 cm, while Saif, Trevor, Rowan and Pete all contributed to the strong overall numbers.

Providence once again showcased its diversity beyond the headline species. John added a milkfish to his tally, while Saif landed a rare napoleon wrasse along with a saddleback grouper, highlighting the depth of opportunity on the atoll. Pete managed one of only 2 bumphead parrotfish for the period, adding another exciting species to the mix.
Overall, this stretch delivered powerful GT action, technical flats fishing and an impressive variety of species. From first GT and personal bests to double hook ups and trophy triggerfish, Providence once again proved why it remains one of the most exciting and rewarding fisheries in the Indian Ocean.
