Mid to late March on Cosmoledo delivered a dynamic and rewarding period of fishing, shaped by shifting tides from neap into spring and a mix of challenging yet productive conditions. Returning anglers and first time visitors alike embraced the opportunity, resulting in milestone catches, trophy GT and a strong spread of species across the flats, lagoon and surf zones.


GT once again led the action with 45 fish landed, including several milestone catches and one standout trophy. Neil, Zachary, Ryan and Alexandr all landed their first ever GT on fly, marking unforgettable moments on the flats. Zachary delivered the fish of the period with a massive 122 cm GT, a true Cosmoledo giant and a remarkable achievement.
Freddie added to the list of firsts in the following week, landing his first GT after a hard fought battle that perfectly captured the power and intensity of the species.Consistent GT action across both weeks ensured regular opportunities, particularly along the surf zones and outer edges where fish were actively feeding on moving water.


Bonefish provided steady and rewarding action with 23 fish landed. Freddie, Josef, Nabil, Friedrich, Roger and Nick all enjoyed consistent success, with Nick landing a standout 70 cm bonefish, one of the best of the period. Roger also celebrated landing his first ever bonefish, adding another milestone to the week.
Bonefish once again proved to be a reliable and exciting target, offering both numbers and quality across the flats.
Triggerfish added a technical edge with 3 fish landed. Zachary opened the account with a moustache trigger, while Nabil delivered a standout performance in the surf, landing 2 moustache triggerfish in a single session. These encounters highlighted the precision and patience required to successfully target these challenging flats species.

Permit made a rare but memorable appearance with 1 fish landed. Ryan successfully landed his first indo pacific permit, a significant milestone and a rewarding achievement on the flats.
Milkfish added variety to the period with 1 fish landed.Rafael was rewarded for his persistence after encountering schools feeding on the surface, successfully bringing a milkfish to hand and showcasing the diversity of the Cosmoledo fishery.
Overall, Cosmoledo delivered an exciting and well rounded two week period, defined by first time GT, trophy fish and technical flats fishing. From a 122 cm GT to milestone permit and consistent bonefish action, the atoll once again proved why it remains one of the most diverse and rewarding saltwater fly fishing destinations in the world.
