About The Destination
Sian Ka’An Lodge sits on a secluded stretch of beach on the outskirts of Punta Allen, facing the ocean. This incredibly remote setting paired with the Sian Ka’an UNESCO World Heritage Reserve it is situated in, offers guests an immersive fly fishing and eco-tourism experience, showcasing the best of Ascension Bay. A private jetty 50 metres from the lodge puts guest on the water without delay.
Twelve ocean-facing rooms, a pool, a shared dining area and a deck where the day’s fishing gets talked through over a cold drink. The lodge is small enough that guests are on first-name basis with the guides from the first morning. The kitchen is led by the people of the region, cooking with ingredients sourced from their neighbours in Punta Allen and the surrounding landscape – fresh, refined, and as Mexican as it gets. Once a week, the evening turns into a taco night that has become something of a lodge institution.

Opportunistic feeders, the Atlantic triggerfish are found on the ocean edge and on the reefs of Ascension Bay. Tailing fish can be targeted on the shallower reefs on foot and the deeper dwelling fish are targeted off a skiff.

Accommodation
Sian Ka'An Lodge sits on a secluded stretch of beach on the outskirts of Punta Allen. There are 12 ocean-facing rooms arranged around a pool and a shared deck that looks directly out over the bay.
Rooms
Each room is fully air-conditioned, with two king-size beds, a spacious en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, kettle, & 24-hour solar power. Full housekeeping & laundry are included. Everything a serious angler needs, nothing more.
The lodge
The communal dining area & bar are where everyone gathers at the end of the day – flies compared, fishing stories told, plans made for the morning. Guests have the option to dine together or independently. A pool & a well-positioned deck look out over the bay.
Dining
Breakfast & dinner are served at the lodge and lunch is packed for the flats. The kitchen draws on traditional Mexican & internationally influenced cooking, with ingredients sourced from the surrounding region.
