This period on Farquhar delivered exceptional fishing, with calm, postcard conditions setting the stage for big fish, milestone moments and serious variety across the flats and deep coral systems. Two groups brought energy, experience and determination, and the atoll responded with some truly memorable catches — including one of the standout GT of the season.

GT fishing produced consistently, with several standout fish and milestone moments.Eric and Paul opened strong with their first GT on fly, while Jason quickly raised the bar with a 106 cm GT early in the trip. Chris, Ryan and George all joined the action, each landing their first GTs, while Tom added to an already incredible week with multiple species and technical catches.
The highlight of the period belonged to Eric, who landed a phenomenal 132 cm GT,the fish of the season so far. Hooked off a nurse shark in deep water and fought from the boat, it was a true Farquhar giant and a once in a lifetime catch. The second group continued the momentum, with Ben, Frikkie, Mark and George all landing GTs, including Frikkie’s impressive 104 cm fish and Alan’s unforgettable 123 cm GT after an intense battle through coral and surf.

Bumpies were a major feature, with multiple trophy fish landed throughout the period. Tom delivered one of the most remarkable runs in recent memory, landing several bumpies including a massive 110 cm fish. Eric, Chris, Ryan, Paul and George all added to the tally, many landing their first ever bumpies. Frikkie also joined the action in the second group, landing his first bumpy after a classic high intensity fight in the surf.
Triggerfish added a technical edge, with several quality fish brought to hand. Paul led the charge with a trophy moustache trigger measuring 53 cm, while Ryan landed another over the 50 cm mark. Alan, Alex and John all contributed, with John incorporating triggers into multiple flats slams across the week.

Bonefish remained a consistent and reliable target, with strong numbers landed across both groups. Tom completed an early flats slam on his first morning, while John stood out with multiple slams across consecutive days. Several anglers landed trophy bonefish over 60 cm, adding quality to the already productive fishing.
The diversity of Farquhar once again showed through. Eric landed a beautiful golden trevally early in the week, a species highly valued by the guides. Tom added a rare african pompano — the first of the season — a fish seldom seen on the atoll.
Overall, this period showcased Farquhar at its best. From technical flats fishing to explosive GT action in deep water, the variety, scale and quality of fish delivered an unforgettable experience. With multiple firsts, trophy catches and a 132 cm GT leading the charge, it was a stretch defined by big moments and even bigger fish
