About The Destination
Cosmoledo Atoll is as remote as the Seychelles outer islands get, situated 560 nautical miles southwest of Mahé in the Seychelles. Getting there involves a two and a half hour domestic flight to Astove and a 1 hour boat crossing. The atoll’s vast central lagoon is ringed by 19 islands of different shapes and sizes, each with its own character and its own flats.
Giant Trevally dominate – aggressive, territorial and present in numbers that few other destinations can match. Bluefin Trevally, Bonefish, Triggerfish, Milkfish and Indo-Pacific Permit round out a fishery that rewards anglers who come prepared for anything.

Golden-yellow fins with big, black eyes are the most striking features of an Indo-Pacific Permit. Apart from that, they are well camouflaged on the backdrop of white sand, turtle grass, or coral flats. Their body is a silver, almost mirror-like colour that reflects their habitat, making them nearly invisible to the untrained eye.

The origins of targeting this species on the fly stem back to Alphonse Island and the lagoon of St. Francois, where these techniques were first pioneered and developed. Accommodation
The eco-lodge on Wizard Island is small, remote and built for people who are here with a purpose. Eight eco-pods, a communal dining area and a fully stocked bar – nothing superfluous, everything considered.
Eco-Pods
Eight eco-pods, each configurable as double or twin, with a verandah and outdoor shower. Simple, well equipped and close to the water. On an atoll this remote, the accommodation is part of the experience rather than a retreat from it.
Lodge
The communal dining and bar area is where the day’s fishing gets dissected and tomorrow’s plan takes shape. Comfortable, well stocked and the natural gathering point for a small group of anglers at the end of a long day on the flats.
Dining
Guests dine together for breakfast and dinner, with lunches served on the flats. The chef prepares a mix of Creole and international dishes, with fresh fish daily and produce sourced from the Alphonse garden
