The second half of February on Cosmoledo Atoll delivered an exciting blend of powerful GT action, personal milestones, and technical flats fishing. Across two dynamic weeks, anglers experienced everything from first GT’s on fly to metre class giants, rewarding triggerfish captures, and classic flats encounters in the vast lagoon and surf zones.
Spring tides in the first week created massive water movement across the atoll. Later in the period, calmer neap tides brought stable water levels and exceptional sight fishing conditions, allowing anglers to carefully stalk fish in the crystal clear shallows. Together, these contrasting tide cycles created a wide variety of opportunities across the system.

Giant trevally dominated the fishing during the period with an impressive total of 85 fish landed. Week 13 produced phenomenal numbers with 67 GT brought to hand, reaffirming Cosmoledo’s reputation as one of the premier destinations in the world for targeting these powerful predators. Joe and Kristin both landed their first GT on fly during their first visit to the Seychelles. Susan and Robert also celebrated their first GT on fly, each experiencing the explosive eat and raw power that make these fish legendary among saltwater fly anglers. Charlie delivered one of the standout moments of the fortnight when he hooked a metre class giant on a powerful pushing tide. After a blistering fight, the fish was measured at an impressive 103 cm, a truly memorable catch on the white sand flats.

Returning anglers Meredith, Elizabeth, Tom, Maggie and Wyn also enjoyed consistent success, contributing multiple fish to the tally through accurate presentations and careful reading of the tides and water movement. The following week continued the momentum with, Ryan, Robert, Stephen, Gianbattista and Henry each landing their first GT on fly. Adding to the excitement were our returning guests, Pete, Ben and Robin, who brought their experience to the flats and helped contribute to the overall GT numbers for the week.
Bonefish provided steady action across both weeks with 14 fish landed, Andrew landed his first bonefish being his first saltwater fish on fly, while Ryan also celebrated his first bonefish during the week. Other anglers including Robert, Gianbattista, Ben and Stephen added strong fish to the tally, enjoying the challenge of stalking these quick and wary fish in clear shallow water. Meredith also added bonefish to her species list during her week, contributing toward a memorable flats slam.
Meredith is no stranger to the flats of the Seychelles and successfully landed two moustache triggerfish on separate days, both well earned captures that required patience, accurate presentations and careful fish fighting to avoid the surrounding coral.

Across the two weeks Cosmoledo once again delivered unforgettable experiences. From explosive GT eats in the surf to technical flats fishing and milestone catches, the atoll continued to prove why it remains one of the most exhilarating saltwater fly fishing destinations in the world.
